Jerry continued to serve at Mableton First Baptist until 1991, when Gorham Baptist Church (now Grace Church) called him to serve as Adult Ministries Pastor.  He met, and later married, Sue Hughes, and their blended family includes six children (Melissa Hughes, David Hughes, Ginger Bailey, Joy Bailey Meade, Scott Bailey, and Lauren Bailey Perrine.  Jerry and Sue are blessed to have nine beautiful grandchildren and one on the way in February 2016.  Pastor Jerry has served the Lord at Grace Church for over 24 years, and he led the church in the transition from a traditional Sunday School meeting at the church on Sunday to an Adult Small Group ministry, with groups meeting in members’ homes throughout the week.  Jerry partially retired December 31, 2013, and he now serves Grace Church part-time as Pastoral Care Pastor, visiting in hospitals, nursing homes, and shut-ins.  His life verse is Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is staid on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee.”
