A Christ-Centered Recovery Program

Welcome!

Perhaps you're wondering what exactly is Celebrate Recovery. Well, the best explanation is found in our purpose statement, which is:

The purpose of Grace Church's Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the "8 Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be changed." By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

Celebrate Recovery is a wonderful ministry made up of multiple small groups. These small groups are extremely important as they can:

  • Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths, and hopes with others who are going through the "Principles" in a Christ-centered recovery.
  • Provide you a leader who has gone through a similar hurt, hang-up, or habit that will facilitate the group as it focuses on a particular Step each week. The leader will also keep Celebrate Recovery's "FIVE RULES."
  • Provide you with the opportunity to find an accountability partner or sponsor.
  • Encourage you to attend other recovery meetings held throughout the week, if available.

Also, these small groups will not:

  • Attempt to offer any professional clinical advice. Our leaders are not counselors. We will provide you with a list of approved counseling referrals.
  • Allow its members to attempt to fix one another.

What God's Word says about:

Hurts and Failures in Your Past

"Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves too tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us." Hebrews 12:1 (TLB)

"No, dear brother, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling you up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us." Philippians 3:13-14 (TLB)

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past." Isaiah 43:18 (NIV)

Denial in Your Present

"You can't heal a wound by saying it's not there!" Jeremiah 30:1

"I will give you back your health again and heal your wounds." Jeremiah 30:1 (TLB)

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

Fear in Your Future

"That is why we can say without any doubt or fear, 'The Lord is my Helper, and I am not afraid of  anything that mere man can do to me.'" 1 John 4:18 (NIV)

"So don't be anxious about tomorrow.  God will take care of your tomorrow, too. Live one day at a time." Matthew 6:34 (TLB)

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
