Dr. Jim Dolson has been a lay-pastor at Grace Church since August of 2010. Raised in a Christian home, at the age of 15 Jim became a Believer in Jesus Christ while attending a Billy Graham Crusade at the Pontiac Silverdome. In his years at Grace, he has lead multiple adult bible studies, participated in life groups, preached from the pulpit, participated in two pastoral search committees, and is a former member of the church’s Finance Committee. In addition to his ministry at Grace, Jim is Superintendent at Jackson Christian School where he has served since 2008. Before joining Jackson Christian, Jim spent 25 years in the automotive industry holding various engineering, manufacturing, and management positions. In 2006, he felt God’s call to get involved with Christian education and to leave the automotive industry. He holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, and a doctorate degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. Jim is also an adjunct faculty member in the Gainey School of Business at Spring Arbor University where he teaches undergraduate business and MBA courses. Jim and his wife Cathy have been married for over 32 years, live in the Jackson area, have four married children, and three grandchildren.
